Looks like Santa Claus will be going by a new name this year... and that name is Zac Efron! On Friday, Zac decided to spread some holiday cheer by visiting L.A.'s Mattel Children's Hospital UCLA and help pass out $10,000 worth of toys to patients!

Teaming up with Gifts.com, Zac spent two hours visiting critically ill children and their families, and giving them some early Christmas gifts. Among these many toys were electronic keyboards, Tickle Me Elmo dolls, board games, art sets, and of course, a few High School Musical products.

And Zac even went further to sign autographs and pose for pictures with the hospital staff in the interim of passing out all those presents. "He really spent time bonding with each of the children and their families," a source told Us magazine.

"The kids were smitten and beaming from ear to ear," the source continued. "Some of the kids couldn't even speak, but they had the widest grins and would sit as close to him as possible."

"Zac was super gracious, and could not have been more kind and truly happy to be there," the source adds.

Hmm... do we suspect that someone is putting up a little competition with the big man up at the North Pole?! We'll take it!
