The Nobel Peace Prize winner and star of the Academy Award-winning global warming documentary "An Inconvenient Truth" returned to his alma mater to help Harvard University launch its new greenhouse gas reduction effort.
Gore, former vice president and 1969 Harvard graduate, told a campus audience on Wednesday that it's time to find ways to make better use of knowledge to save the global environment.
Harvard has a goal of reducing its greenhouse gas emissions 30 percent by 2016 and was one of only two Ivy League universities in the list of top ten green colleges in the nation.
Meanwhile, in more green news, student volunteers from colleges around New York State braved freezing cold temperatures on their bikes Wednesday to send a message to state and federal political candidates: pay attention to climate change.
They want candidates to let voters know what they plan to do about global warming and the energy crisis. Maybe they should have read our “How Green is your Candidate?” article!
