Lance Armstrong: I'm no dope!

Lance Armstrong rolled across the Tour de France finish line in third place yesterday, and although he said he was pleased with his performance, he was not so pleased with the questions that met him at the finish line.

Responding to questions about possible blood doping, the star cyclist said “I’ve been tested more than anybody else. If I can take four years off and come back at the age of 38 with more controls than anyone else on planet Earth and get third place in the hardest sporting event in the world, I think we’ve answered the questions.”

Doping allegations have followed Armstrong through his seven-year winning streak on the Tour de France , but there has never been solid evidence behind allegations. Doping means anything that artificially enhances an athlete’s performance: it can mean anything from over-the-counter drugs to steroids.

He told CNN he had been given at least 50 surprise drug tests throughout the race. Lance also added that he was inspired to come back after a four year hiatus from the Tour de France for two reasons: his “love for the bike and for the Tour,” and for all those battling cancer who tell him “keep going, pedal harder tomorrow.”

Team up with Lance to fight steroid use and cancer.
