Former Atlanta Falcons quarterback Michael Vick was released from prison in Kansas yesterday, and will serve the last two months of his sentence in home confinement in Virginia. 28-year-old Vick was found guilty of bankrolling a dogfighting operation at his house.
Vick has already served 21 months in jail, and will return to pro football as early as September if the NFL reinstates him. His attorneys say that in the meantime, he will work at a construction firm in Virginia and will be paid $600,000 to be in a documentary.
When he finishes his home confinement term, Vick is set to work with the Humane Society of the U.S. on anti-dogfighting campaigns, and hopes to prevent teens and kids from getting involved in dogfighting and helping them to get out of it.
Vick may not be the best role model but at least he's doing something to redeem his situation. You can help improve animal welfare to, find out how to show your furry friends some love and end animal cruelty.

This is so annoying. He should have to serve longer and shouldn't be reinstated in the NFL and he shouldn't be paid to do a documentary. That is like encouraging dogfighting.
I think that he along with the rest of the real "animals" that did/do this to innocent animals should be killed just like they did to those poor dogs! How dare someone do these horrible things and not pay for it!! 21 months in jail is nohting compared to the hurt they put those poor dogs through! Shame on the judge & rest of everyone else! Put me up there, he would be dead already!
I believe this is cruel and unfair to these animals. They are living creatures that can feel pain just as we can. He should be treated just as those dogs were treated, and feels like to know what might happen if your not at the top of your game! But I guess that will never happen. ughhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh!!!!!!!!
This guy just makes me sick to my stomach ! He should have gotten at least 40 years. Yes that may sound pretty bad but seriously ! Those innocent dogs died , that's called murder. If that were to happen to a human, the law would have given him way more than 21 months. We're all the same here, as long as we have a beating heart; I consider all of us equal.
I think that he should have gotten a lot more time than 21 months. If the NFL takes him back they are not setting a good example for kid, If they let him play they are telling kids that dog fighting is ok and that they can do it and can still play football after. I dont understand why he would do such a thing. It really makes me sick. He should have to live the way he made those dogs live. He should have been charged with murder.
I agree with everyone. The laws for animal cruelty should REALLY be upgraded. The man is cleary SICK and MEAN and does not need to be released from prison. Oooh, man, if I was the judge... Michael Vick would be in some serious pain right now...
