Bush reassures the American people
So we know that even teens are feeling the pinch amidst the current economic crisis, and earlier today President Bush spoke from the Rose Garden, trying to reassure the American people about the state of our economy. He seemed pretty confident given the current situation. Asserting that “we can solve this crisis,” he maintained that “we know what the problem is” and “we have the tools to fix it.” After the Dow continued to drop, a whopping 700 points this morning alone, he said the U.S. is coordinating with other countries to stabilize international banking and said that our government is employing a “wide range of tools,” including the recently passed $700 billion bailout plan to get our economy back on track. Teens and adults alike are all hoping that Bush’s confidence and expectations for a newly strengthened economy will become a reality.
