Sammy Sosa latest addition to 'roid scandal

Most people remember Sammy Sosa for his 1998 home run race with Mark McGwire, but that may change after Sports Illustrated’s revelation that he tested positive for steroids in the same 2003 survey test as Alex Rodriguez.

The baseball commission conducted the survey of 1,198 players to determine if testing of all baseball players was necessary. Rodriguez and Sosa are among the 194 who tested positive.

Although Sosa has long been suspected of taking performance-enhancing drugs, he maintained over the years, even testifying before Congress, that he had never taken the drugs. He finished his career in 2007 with 609 home runs, which ranks sixth all time.

The steroid scandal that continues to rock the baseball industry includes Manny Ramirez, who is currently serving a 50-game suspension for failing a drug test. During Men’s Health Week, June 15-21, Do Something exposes the reality that the problem isn’t only affecting the nation’s favorite athletes. Check out the article here.
