Q&A Exclusive: Cody Simpson on Animal Welfare

There are many reasons why we love Cody Simpson (catchy songs, Australian accent etc.). But our #1 reason is that he is encouraging fans to follow in his footsteps by taking care and speaking up for animals.

We got the chance to catch up with Cody about his PETA2 “make your animals’ life paradise” campaign. Here is what he had to say.

What inspired you to join the PETA2 campaign?

I've always loved dogs and after seeing a news report on dogs being abused, I asked my manager if there was some way I could be a part of something to speak up for animals since they can't speak for themselves.

Why is the welfare of animals important to you?

Because they are such an important part of a family, they make a huge impact on children's lives and they can't stick up for themselves. You know, I've always stood up against bullying and people that mistreat animals are just another form of bullies.

What are some tips you can give to your fans if they witness animal abuse?

Tell a parent, teacher or police officer.

Your dog Buddy is adorable. How did it feel to be able to work with him?

It was just fun to do something with my own dog. It makes it so much more real.

What are you looking forward to most during your summer tour with Big Time Rush?

I've never been on tour this long, so it's going to give me 3 months to see all of my incredible fans.
