New York City Mayor Mike Bloomberg recently launched a new initiative – “Made in NY” – to support the city’s thriving tech industry AND to promote continued job growth.
“We Are Made in NY” is a multi-platform movement that brings together city resources to help entrepreneurs and attract new startups. The initiative will also push to job opportunities (over 3,000 open positions) from more than 900 local startups. Baller!
“Growing our local tech industry is an important part of our economic development strategy to bring new businesses to our city and more jobs opportunities to New Yorkers,” said Mayor Bloomberg. “The city offers the ideal location for talented people with ground-breaking ideas to start their companies, and the ‘We Are Made in NY’ initiative is the latest step we’re taking to help them grow here.”
Even more amazeballs: the campaign features yours truly (virtual high five), along with Etsy and Kickstarter, among others.
You can catch the “Made in NY” promos online or on your daily commute. Read: you can see it on subways, buses, and Taxi TV.
