Khloe Kardashian was torn between supporting her husband Lamar Odom (who got an offer to play basketball in Turkey) and the tragic history of her Armenian ancestors with the country.

Sunday night’s episode of “Khloe & Lamar,” shined a spotlight on a little known topic—the Armenian Genocide. During WWI the Turkish government forcibly removed a majority of the Armenian population from the Ottoman Empire. Many were sent into the desert to die of thirst or hunger.

1.5 million Armenians were killed out of a total population of 2.5 million.
