Project Greenlight

Project Greenlight is rooted in a small community in Northeast Pennsylvania. Many people live in poor rural areas and working class urban neighborhoods in the formerly prosperous Lackawanna and Wyoming Valleys. I hope to educate people about energy conservation and help them to make a positive change. By distributing and installing CFLs I hope to not only touch individual lives, but to do my part in the fight against climate change.

ShiftTheTide

Shift The Tide is closing the information gap between the environmentalist movement and the Average Joe. Our goal is to create an accessible source for ideas about conservation and the small changes everyone can make to help keep the planet healthy.

BeGreen - Carbon Neutral

We are helping anyone looking to go green by living within their environmental means. Solving the problem of global warming one person at a time has made, and will continue to make a difference in the global struggle to cool off the planet.

Colin Firth living the eco-age

via People

Love Actually and What a Girl Wants star Colin Firth has personally promoted social responsibility for a while now, specifically by opening two ethical-coffee cafes in London called “Progreso” and “Covent Garden” aimed to benefit Fairtrade growers.

Trees and Leaves

Trees have been around for many thousands of years. Not everybody knows that trees are an important componant of the earth. They help produce oxygen, while reducing carbon dioxide.

Elkhorn Slough Conservation

Elkhorn Slough is in Moss Landing, California. Moss Landing is surrounded by ocean so it is important that surrounding land is properly taken care of so that we avoid negative impact to the ocean. The problem this project was meant to solve is run-off from agricultural fields. Fertilizers and pesticides are used to help crops grow which is a benefit but when these products flow into surrounding rivers and creeks that lead into the ocean, we have a problem.

Gardens and Recycling

Save Our School and Planet!!! S.O.S.P’s mission is to try and save the environment, save the school, and create awareness about environmental issues. One way we plan to accomplish our mission is to make our school more environmental by planting trees and flowers around our local area (our school for example). Planting trees in your community really is one of the best things you can do for your environment- and the planet!

Environmental Education Through Schools

I am a Peace Corps Volunteer in Trusesti, Romania teaching at a K-8th school. I am searching for help with a project to increase awareness and education about the environment. In my community, streets and sewage systems are filled with garbage, plastic is overused then burned and recycling is not a common practice. Even today the effects of an industrial communist regime can be seen by the low priority given to the environment and lack of understanding the consequences of ones actions in relation to the environment.
