One of the major components in a lot of schools today is service learning. This is often difficult for parents and students alike. It always seems like no one knows what to do, where to go and even how to find something that’s not drudgery for parents and students!
That’s where this comes in:
This past Thursday, VH1 aired the second annual Do Something Awards, which represents a partnership between the music channel and DoSomething.org to honor young people’s commitment to social change. The awards ceremony was hosted by Jane Lynch and featured performances from Demi Lovato, OneRepublic with B.o.B, and Foster The People along with an all-star lineup of presenters, which included Kristen Bell, Nick Cannon, Jon Cryer, Victoria Justice, Adam Lambert, Mario Lopez and more.

"Glee" actress Jane Lynch was once again the host for the VH1 Do Something Awards, a show and event that honors young people's commitment to social change. Along with the celebrity presenters and award recipients, the show had performances by Demi Lovato, OneRepublic featuring B.o.B and Foster the People.

A month before Jane Lynch hosts the Emmys, the actress takes to the stage hosting the "2011 Do Something Awards" on VH1 for the second time.
Younger people taking the incentive impress her, Lynch tells Zap2it.
"It's a mixed blessing of being young and naive and they do and they sacrifice themselves and it's great to give the winner a spotlight," she says.
The awards honor those under 25 who achieve change for the better, and one honoree receives $100,000 for his cause.
Tonight on VH1, The 2011 Do Something Awards hosted by Jane Lynch will honor celebrities and young people actually making a difference in the world. Oh, and also, Justin Bieber was there!!1! You can watch the show on VH1 at 9/8 C, but til that time, we would like to offer you our signature For Your Consideration: The 2011 Do Something Awards.

I'm not a big fan of adults, and I'm frankly beginning to doubt their ability to make our world a better place. Take Congress -- please. On the other hand, I've been heartened in recent weeks by working on The 2011 VH1 Do Something! Awards -- which airs tonight at 9PM. The show -- hosted by the amazing and consistently hilarious Jane Lynch -- puts the spotlight on young people making a difference by "rocking the causes" that matter the most to them, as well as celebrating lots of more familiar celebrities who use their star power for the common good.
