One of the major components in a lot of schools today is service learning. This is often difficult for parents and students alike. It always seems like no one knows what to do, where to go and even how to find something that’s not drudgery for parents and students!
That’s where this comes in:
Yesterday actress Jane Lynch (aka GLEE's acid-tongued Sue Sylvester) appeared in New York City to promote her new book Happy Accidents and impart some of her wisdom upon fans.
Lynch prepping for Emmys gig
"Glee" star Jane Lynch said she wants next month's Emmys to be the best awards show ever.
"We want it to be special. It's such a coveted spot; it's the biggest night in television, as they call it," the first-time host said. "But I'd be lying if I said I didn't want to make a big splash."
Lynch, who has hosted the Do Something Awards for the past two years, didn't reveal many details about what's planned, but did tell reporters during a conference call Tuesday that she bets her "Glee" cast will be featured during the production.
In her upcoming memoir "Happy Accidents," actress Jane Lynch comes clean about her battle with addiction.
The 51-year-old Emmy winner, who recently hosted the "Do Something Awards," writes about how she became addicted to cough syrup after she gave up drinking in 1991.
In an excerpt from her memoir obtained by the New York Post, Lynch writes:
DoSomething.org and VH1 have announced the winners for this year’s 2011 Do Something Awards.
Hosted by Glee star Jane Lynch, the ceremony honored and celebrated the nation’s best young world-changers who represent the pivotal “do-ers” in their field, cause or issue.
Celebrities such as Tyra Banks, David Beckham, Justin Bieber, Sophia Bush, Will Ferrell, Demi Lovato and Olivia Wilde were on-hand to receive awards in a variety of categories from ‘Do Something Movie Star’ to ‘Do Something Athlete’ for all they have done to inspire young people.
I'm not sure we've extended a hearty enough "THANKS!" to VH1's "Do Something Awards." Not only were they home to Demi Lovato's goosebump-inducing performance of "Skyscraper," but they also inspired one of the best Wilson Phillips performances I've ever witnessed!!! My junior high fantasies are finally coming true!!!!
Tyra Banks is all smiles as she arrives at the 2011 Do Something Awards held at the Hollywood Palladium on Sunday (August 14) in Hollywood.
The 37-year-old former model and talk show host accessorized with jewelry by Jennifer Fisher.
Tyra took home the Do Something Style award over Nigel Barker, Gisele Bundchen, Fergie and Christy Turlington.
The 2011 Do Something Awards are set to air on VH1 on August 18! Be sure to tune in and check out Jane Lynch as she hosts for the second year in a row.
