DoSomething.org and the VH1 Save The Music Foundation have announced the second annual "Battle for the Bands" campaign, led by celebrity spokespeople Keri Hilson and "Glee"'s Amber Riley. The national initiative mobilizes young people in the fight to keep music education in schools.

Cuts in government funding for education means that schools all over the country are losing their music programs. Can you imagine your school without a band, choir or music class? Through their Battle for the Bands campaign, DoSomething.org wants to show Congress that we care about saving the music!

R&B star Keri Hilson and Glee actress Amber Riley know the importance of music in life. That’s why they’re teaming with DoSomething.org to promote the second annual “Battle of the Bands” competition to save music education in schools.
The two stars, along with others like Kat DeLuna, Sick Puppies, and other musicians, are two of the supporters of this campaign as well as spokespeople for the event, which is a combined effort between DoSomething.org and VH1’s Save the Music Foundation.
