Do Something Award Nominee Salma Hayek has done more than wow the world with her acting and her beauty. Since 2007, the Oscar-nominated celeb has campaigned with UNICEF to fight poverty among working mothers in developing countries. She visited Sierra Leone this past year, where she breast fed a starving baby.
Salma has also donated to domestic violence shelters in Mexico and the United States. In 2006, she testified before Congress, urging them to renew laws protecting women against violence.

Did you know? This coming Sunday, April 25, is World Malaria Day. In advance of this, an expansion of the UN’s Social Media Envoy group was announced today with an impressive celeb line-up, in an effort to activate social media audiences in support of malaria control. Their goal: to end malaria-related deaths by the year 2015.
