Following the earthquakes in Western Sumatra, Indonesia on the 30 September and 1October, 2009, Hands On Disaster Response (www.hodr.org) has launched a recovery project in Sungai Geringging, near Padang City.
The initial focus of this project will be to clear debris and rubble from the sites of damaged houses to enable families to begin rebuilding their homes and their lives. The work will be physical, extremely rewarding, and fun!
