In my community there are many children that have terminal illnesses. Joey's Eagles is trying to provide a home for those children to not feel alone in their battle against cancer and other childhood illnesses.

The Find a Book a Home Foundation started in 2004 when I over heard a fellow classmate at a book fair who said she wished she could buy a book, but her family could not afford things like that. I was amazed and saddened and felt the strong need to help get books into the hands of children who could not afford to own one of their own. Since 2004 the Foundation has branched out to serve the community with many different programs, with its main focus being that of education.

Our organization works on helping ex-offenders reenter society after their release. This population is forgotten and stereotyped and believed to be unimportant. Everyone deserves a second chance once they aew released, not a second sentence.
We help with rebuilding relationships, fixing criminal thinking errors, employment services, computer skills, and giving back to the community.

Whether it was during my summer in Africa working to raise educational awareness among women about HIV/AIDS at health clinics, churches, and schools, or while visiting the orphanages in Phnom Peng, Cambodia, or helping to build a community plaza in Greece in honor of a young girl whose death had recently brought the town closer together...in all of these experiences, the greatest problem repeatedly I experienced among volunteers, NGO staffers, think tank policy advocates, social entrepreneurs, and other change makers is an information barrier.

The epidemic that I am tackling is misunderstanding. By eliminating the language gap that separates so many of us, there will be few excuses to eliminate a state of harmony, peace, and understanding.

We are trying to utilize contemporary forms of music history, english, production and healing with musical forms. The lack of understanding about music and its power remain a problem in society and with this lack of information we see the abuse of music to inhibit emotions.

There's a very low amount of people aware of the state of the educational system. This is a documentary to help people to see the impact that an interrupted education has on people and their future opportunities.

In our latest efforts to combat underdeveloped reading literacy skills amongst youth, we developed an after school reading program geared towards helping Pre K-4th graders with homework and reading in a positive environment that promotes healthy learning and academic growth through reading books. It is our goal to use new and innovative techniques to spark an interest in reading.
Read First Initiative after school program is a plus for the community as a whole.
