Moving? Make it eco-friendly!

My family and I were in need of another house so we built a new one and we did 90% of the whole project. Including the building, wiring, floors, etc. The hardest part was moving. The reason why it was so hard was because we had hardly any help. My dad is on disability and couldn't lift anything and my mom works full time as a nurse. Then my grandpa doesnt really need to do anything and so it was up to me to get the job done so everyone else could do what they were supposed to and/or not get hurt.

A Fighting Chance

Over the summer of 2009 I volunteered 6 weeks at Hohoe Children Orphan's Home in Hohoe, Ghana. This trip impacted my life so much more than I had the time to impact theirs. I am trying to raise funds to return to Hohoe and the orphanage and create a plan to give these children a fighting chance. One boy in particular stole my heart. His story made me realize just HOW much help these children need. His name is Promise and he is currently 12 years old.

Arbor and Bench

I am dressing up the schools entrance, and making it more noticable from far away. The community that I helped is a nice, and friendly enviroment for Canterbury lower division school.

Picture Peace

I am trying to create awareness of international issues through art, specifically photography.

Joey's Eagles House

In my community there are many children that have terminal illnesses. Joey's Eagles is trying to provide a home for those children to not feel alone in their battle against cancer and other childhood illnesses.

Tactics of Hope

Whether it was during my summer in Africa working to raise educational awareness among women about HIV/AIDS at health clinics, churches, and schools, or while visiting the orphanages in Phnom Peng, Cambodia, or helping to build a community plaza in Greece in honor of a young girl whose death had recently brought the town closer together...in all of these experiences, the greatest problem repeatedly I experienced among volunteers, NGO staffers, think tank policy advocates, social entrepreneurs, and other change makers is an information barrier.

Healing Emotional Trauma

We are trying to utilize contemporary forms of music history, english, production and healing with musical forms. The lack of understanding about music and its power remain a problem in society and with this lack of information we see the abuse of music to inhibit emotions.

COMMUNITY CENTER, NEEDS A COMMUNITY

I'm trying to solve the problem of self esteem on gang violence and one on one violence. I'm trying to solve the actions being taken place in my community. The community I live in is just so unsafe for me and for other families. I'm just tired of the actions and the non belief of loss of self help in my community!
