I am trying have guns allowed in homes for protection without a licence. People 21 or older can only buy guns without a licence.

My plan of action is to spread this information in my school, and if my school favors this idea, it will spread on to other schools and communities. I would like to spread this outside rather than on he web, so I don't get tracked down so easily by strangers. So far a few students in my political science class are interested, but the majority of the school doesn't really care about politics. This will help stop crimes, because many criminals will be aware of home owners carrying guns in their homes. Parents or guardians will need to put their guns in a safe, so children cannot obtain access to the guns! people will have weapons for protection against criminals.

Together We Rise is trying to solve the problems associated with the broken foster care system and the lack of awareness about this issue.

Together We Rise is a non-profit organization dedicated to improving the lives of foster children in America by funding programs that give a sense of normalcy, comfort, and self-esteem to combat the disproportionate opportunities available to foster youth.

The devoted and enthusiastic staff of Together We Rise (TWR) work tirelessly to solve the many challenges that foster children face. The life of a foster child is often bleak and the statistics clearly display this. For example, nearly 23,000 foster children will die of neglect or abuse by their 5th birthday and almost half of those children will become homeless within 18 months of leaving the foster care system by 2020.

TWR makes decreasing these bleak figures the cornerstone of our organization. However, the issues that TWR solve go well beyond what the numbers show; we also work to bring a level of normalcy to foster children's lives.Their lives are often very unstable and changing this is one of major goals.

Children are the future and we believe they deserve to live the best life possible. They have been put into a situation that they have no control over. We want to show them that there are people in the world who care about them and want to see them grow into successful adults. If we have the ability to touch even one child's life and know we made an impact in a positive way, then we have done our job. We have developed programs that allow them to be successful in society, school, sports, creativity, and life. Our sports camps also help to raise awareness about childhood obesity and teach them ways to stay healthy throughout their lifetime.

Innovation, creativity, and a strong work ethic are instilled to improve the lives of foster children through integrity, commitment, and dependability. TWR utilizes young adult volunteers through social and digital media to host sports camps and implement educational programs with various subjects. A variety of programs are created to reach the diverse and varying interests of foster children, offering them an assortment of activities to provide a well-rounded experience. Poverty, Gangs, Childhood Obesity, Broken Homes, Lack of Education/After School Enrichment/Mentoring/Role Models/Knowledge/Resources. There are several underprivaledged students that turn to gangs and drugs after school because there are no or very few after school programs offered.

why it's important:

It is important to me because I've seen several students turn to gangs and drop out of school. So many young ones are underprivileged and forced into negative lifestyles. I take any and all students who want to participate as well as students who are referred by teachers, parents and/or guardians. Typically those students have trouble at home or in school, and I use a one on one tactic to find out what there interests are so I can determine rewards for improvement. A lot of the students I've worked with were caught up in gang life/selling drugs, failing school and not participating in any after school programs because there weren't any offered at their schools. I thought that was one of the main reasons why students were turning to gangs, so I started by mentoring a few boys and they all got out of the gang life and became more focused on school, sports, arts and music. I think students just need the knowledge and opportunities to express there interests and talents to reach their potentials, succeed in high school and beyond.

Obesity is another issue that I have helped students battle. Teaching them how to eat healthier and giving them a work out plan that you motivate them through can do wonders. However, motivation is key and varies from student to student. It might be a work out plan playing basketball, wii fit, skate boarding, hiking or basic lifting/cardio etc. You just have to take the time to figure out what works best for each individual.

Mission Statement: Our goal is to assist students in reaching their fullest potential by offering them one on one mentoring and tutoring as well as several leadership and extracurricular enrichment opportunities they wouldn’t experience otherwise. We focus on students individual interests and reward them when they reach certain goals. Many of our students suffer from broken homes, gangs, obesity, poverty etc. We provide them with the knowledge and resources necessary to overcome these obstacles.

Every student is different, so every approach is different. We develop a, “Success Plan” for every student which includes goals with step by step, day by day, week by week and month by month objectives, so we can measure effectiveness and improvement. No one is turned down and we have a 100% success rate since we’ve started. Students have dropped out of gangs, improved academics and found passion for activities such as music, art, photography, outdoor education, sports, debate etc.

It is our belief that all students have a passion for something and want to learn, it is just a matter of finding out what that passion is and how to motivate each individual. If you can reward a student with an opportunity they’ve never experienced or dreamed of they will do anything to succeed. I have brought students to professional recording studios, vocal lessons, acting auditions/classes, movie sets, mountains for skiing/snowboarding/tubing, youth recognition ceremonies to receive awards I nominated them for, ribbon cutting ceremonies to meet the mayor, community service events and many other places/events all for the first time to show them I care about there individual interests and to earn their respect.

I base every “Success Plan” on a rewards system that students must earn to motivate them to reach their goals. I combat the lack of role models, broken homes, obesity and gang life on a daily basis. However, it’s these situations that keep me passionate and motivated to help. Some people go to third world countries to help better peoples lives, but I have found that are several people in my own community that suffer from some of the hardships. I believe it is my calling to do whatever I can to help and I will stop at nothing to succeed.

I would like to expand across the entire district and eventually state and country. I have a big vision for Inspiration Mentoring and want it to improve the nations education, obesity rate, crime rate and drop out rate. It will start off small in every school and build every year until every school in the area has a program.

the problem:

I'm trying to solve a basic community problem. I want to educate the youth a find positive ways to keep them motivated with hands on participation from the community itself. Someone needs to take charge in this area to ensure we mold the youth in becoming assets to society and grow up being law abiding citizens with a goal of making this world better in every possible direction because we are losing our youth day by day and it's time to get them back because they are our future and they will have to run this world someday. We do not want to see America go down in flames, so we have to educate our youth.

This project is important to me because I really care about where young people are heading and I feel like if I have an opportunity to make sure I guide thousands of children and teens in the right direction, I would do it. We all have some purpose here on earth and mine is to definitely help people, it's only fair.

the plan of action:

My plan of action is to get started writing grant proposals and look for sponsors. From then on, find some land and get started on how to administer this program in Memphis by all means and that includes making all proper notifications to government and filling out the proper paperwork. It won't be easy, but it will be worth the effort.

This project is important to me because I come from a city where people get killed every day. Its hard to hear about a loved one being killed senselessly, so i wated to stand up against crime.

Me and my group have recorded a cameo and took it to the local radio station to be aired once a week.

the problem:

There is a huge population in my community of homeless teens. Run aways, Throw aways, and couch surfers. There is currently no type of "shelter" to help individuals in this age bracket. We have a battered women's shelter which allows children; daughters of any age can stay with their mothers, but sons can only stay up to age 15. A newly single abused mother has enough to deal with without losing part of her family. I can't imagine trying to choose between losing my son, and protecting my other children and myself. However, many women in my community must face this choice everyday, fueling Foster Homes, and DFS workers to place perfectly fine, wonderful kids with total strangers.

This is important to me for several reasons. The first being growing up as one of these teens. The second reason it's important is I believe that everyone should be given a chance at success. Not thrown around from home to home, when there should be a place for the WHOLE family to be placed.

I am currently enrolled in college and am attempting to get a Bachelorette in Social Work, after this I plan on completing my degree to Graduate School and obtaining my Masters. I'm minoring in Spanish due to the large Hispanic Population in the area, and am thinking of double majoring or minoring in Childhood Psychology.

I would like to make a universal paradise for everyone on the Planet through Investing and Inventing Technology and Extreme Science Advancements in Nano Technology that can do anything you can imagine, solve all your problems in any, create practically invincible anything, etc...

I want to do it as I want to do something, anything to get the technology I want.

the plan of action:

I would like to create some inventions I design. I would like to do college, I want to be there to know graphic design and make money to invest with. There are small projects I can do with small amounts of money and there are large projects with a lot of money. Example: A Nano Technologically advanced Volumetric Molecular Scanner that can scan something and make a digitally programmed 3d working copy of it can work with a nano machine with a compupter where you can do anything you want to it instantly. That includes people, objects, items, anything you can think of, completely stop the need for farms and animals farming as all the acids and minerals can be practically instantly printed off a computer with this. I like to think it would cost around $990 Billion USD to design the Scanner. With the Scanner, it can be designed quickly and distributed everywhere. I am the only person in the universe that I know of actually doing something about it.

What I would like to do to make the money is make a Electric Generator that creates its own electricity to power things like helicopters and jets. I already design it and I can talk to engineers that can make it although it would be a hard concept as anyone I explain it to that thinks they know how to do it greater would just do it themselves, take small amounts of investment and the money that would be needed for the scanner would be distributed to lots of people at large companies an they wouldn't do anything to design the scanner. I would like to think that I would need more power from the electric generator as a idea to make people want to buy it. I design a lot of inventions and I can make designs and everything I would need to show engineers how to design them. The electric generator I design is about less than $100.00 in resources, and is less than a few LB's. It is in the shape of a acorn. I call it the Acorn. It is not all about the generator's. I design a lot of inventions and a lot of ideas, companies, etc... that are all amaing and I would like to think that people are interested in what I am interested in though I would like to be around people like that in college environment's.

the problem:

I want to raise awareness for the pain people have. The pain people have cause them to hurt others, surround themselves with those that inflict pain on others or feel lost. They can experience beauty from pain. They can be beautiful people. They can have a positive outlet. All they need is encouragement.

I was abused for many years and I know the feeling. It is the worst kind and I can't imagine sitting back and not trying to change it. People can be happy. I just want others to know with creativity in writing, drawing, building etc that they can find a way to channel the hurt. We have staff that reach out by writing their stories to to help others.

the plan of action:

I created a website with a blog. I began blogging my story and volunteering at churchs to spread the word. I began social networking as well. I started getting emails of people that were touched and wanted to involved. It spiraled into more then I thought possible. Suddenly we are hosting events, fundraisers, and drives. The response has been phenominal

the problem:

All of them. I am married in May of 2013. I have 9 bridesmaids. we each have a cause. For instance, i feel passionate about helping children, with education and bullying. Another targets poverty and hunger etc.

why it's important:

I believe that my community needs our help. I believe that this idea spark a trend of paying it forward, and influence other groups (especially other bridesmaids) to get involved in their community and hopefully take hold.

the plan of action:

Each bridesmaid has a "cause" they are passionate about. In a time where people can be so caught up in themselves, we decided that each bridesmaid should (optionally) pick a cause and that we would come together and together volunteer for each other's causes. Each women plans on doing the same in her own wedding. We are in the process of creating a calendar of volunteer opportunities.
