Kobe Bryant Hosts Student Trip to China
Kobe Bryant may not be your ordinary field-trip chaperone, but he is taking young people across the world. Bryant’s Kobe & Vanessa Bryant Family Foundation has partnered with After-School All-Stars, Los Angeles (ASAS-LA), an after-school program provider, to send 11 students from underserved L.A. neighborhoods to China on an educational tour.
Artest and Bryant Score Some (Socially Good) Points
The L.A. Lakers may not be in the NBA Finals, but they are still doing good: social good, that is.
Laker Ron Artest is going on a reality show to help young people. "Last Second Shot" will feature Artest and ten parolees working to take control of their lives. Life coaches and mental health professionals will help the NBA star get the young ex-convicts on the road to a brighter future.
As of now, no network has picked up the show, but that hasn't stopped Ron and 44 Blue Productions from planning to film 10 episodes of the show over the course of the summer.
Kobe Bryant has a second love
And his second love is...soccer? It’s true! The five-time NBA champ revealed his love for the sport in an interview with CNN. With World Cup fever in the air and some time off his usual court, Kobe Bryant recently visited a new football center in – where else? – South Africa.
