VMA's First-Ever 'Best Video With a Message' Nominees Announced
MTV has announced the first-ever "Best Video With a Message" category. The special category, in conjunction with MTV Act, celebrates the union between music and social activism, and highlights artists who created music videos that made us think about the world around us. These artists could have just made party songs, but instead they also took a stand against bullying, fought for LGBT rights and reminded us why we're all special.

This is a very special Veteran's Day. For we Americans are not only remembering the soldiers who fought for our country and our ideals in the past; we're also honoring the troops who have fought -- and are still fighting -- in Iraq and Afghanistan today. These wars have resulted in 1.6 million American veterans, many of whom are under 25, and half of which have been diagnosed with some sort of mental illness as a result of their tours of duty.
