How To: Fill Your Bar/Bat Mitzvah with Social Good

Becoming a bar or bat mitzvah means you'll be recognized as a Jewish adult (woot, woot) and part of that means living a life full of mitzvah ("good deed" in Hebrew). Your Hebrew school encourages giving back to your community, so here are a few ways to incorporate what you've learned in your bar/bat mitzvah.

Be careful! The products you use may be tested on animals. If you are opposed to animal testing, you can look for products made by companies that do not test their products or their ingredients on animals.

The best thing to do is to read the labels of products you buy. Look for companies that a leaping bunny logo (like the one on the right) next time you shop.

How To: Capture a Veteran's Story

An easy and incredibly thoughtful way to commemorate our veterans is to preserve their story in the library of Congress. Simply conduct an interview with a U.S. veteran and send it to the government so that the story can live on forever.
