Are you discriminated against? Do you discriminate against other people? The answer to this question is probably yes. Your religion, race, height, nationality, disability, and even your gender are all factors that all people make quick judgments about when they meet someone new. Unfortunately, many of these judgments are based on biases and assumptions.

I Agree & Disagree
I agree and disagree with you, Rachel. I know what it is like because I am white too. I have been called a cracker and all other types of names but I don't really let it get to me. I think it was very good of you not to call the other person the n-word because it is racially offensive. I disagree on you fighting her at the park though. Nothing she could possibly say should make you want to fight her. I think you should have taken it to a higher offical like some councoler at school or something. If you don't want to do that, talk to your parents. And if you don't want to do that, then you should have gotten in contact with her parents somehow and explained to them your situation. I am sure they would understand and they would have handled it better than you have. I applaud you for being against discrimination, but I look down in shame because you only showed people that it affects you. Now everyone knows how to make you angry and they are just going to keep on saying things to you. If you would have ignored her and tried to avoid her, you probably would have been forgotten about and they would have eventually moved on. I know it is easier said then done because I have been bullied too. But just because someone called you a name doesn't give you the right to hurt them either.
You go girl! (reply to equals)
I completely agree that descriminition because of race, religion, sex, height, weight, or anything else should be brought up and advocated in the smallest villages to the biggest cities. I am also unbiased in race and I am always proudly advocating my ethnicity- chinese. I haven't been picked on very much yet but I do hear and see biased things happeneing toward the chinese not just locally but also nationally. I have also seen how guy who came from Taiwan at my school is criticized for being different because he does things like carry a thermos bottle around with him, something pretty normal for Chinese. I think people need to be educated so much better about different races and ethinicites by the right people in order for racism to stop. I applaud you for being so strong about standing up for your race. I like to proudly tell people I mostly watch chinese tv and I like to wear my chinese style shirt every chinese new year. I am happy their is someone else out their that feels like I do about discrimination.
people always descrimonate me!!!!~!~!
People are always thinkin i cant do somethin cause i'm a girl. WRONG! I do a lot of things boys do i ride dirtbikies, i can name alomst any part of my dirtbike and or car and tell you what it does, i play football and other sports like boxing, and i'm always in the woods. so who ever thinks that girls can do that, your wrong but on the other hand, i can look good and do the other girly things. ANother thing people pick on me about is being short. they call me elf, shorty, midget mac, shrimp, and mighty mouse. i honesty don't care but still, i don't pick on them. finally, cause i'm white! this girl was callin me a cracker and tons of other racist names and i know darn well if i called her the n-word i'd be in SO much trouble and my mom told the principal and that girl didnt get in one ounce of trouble. i was so mad. but i didnt say anything bad, instead we fought at the park. lol(i won)

Your absolutly right about the rich using their money on material things instead of helping those in need. and i hate watching people get bullied so now i tell them to stop instead of sittin back and watchin like i used to.

Why they stay, the court ordered silencing of the abusing of the
children...
What would you do?
Sugar and spice and everything nice.
This is suppose to every little girls life.
What happens when life is not like that?
What if your life is filled with constant abuse by the people who suppose to protect you?
For little Katelynn of Indiana, her life is filled with this from a father, stepmother and father's family; everyone but her the relatives that love her have been deined the ability to see her.
What happens when the police will not stop this?
Than try Child Protection Service, but they will not stop this either.
The next thing to do is go to the court.
What would you do if the Child Protection Services and the court helped the abusers hurt her?
The media might work but they ignore majority of average people.
In this search for help, several politicians ignored or said stop bothering them.
If these people will not help little katelynn than who will?
Will this little girl have to pay the ultimate price for these adults mistakes?
NoW....,What WILL you do?

Why religon?
I dont see why anyone should be a part of a group. We were all born as individuals, and we have been conditioned and we have taken something from society such that we all are unique in a way or another. We are all different human beings and we don't need to be represented by a group religon caste or sect. If i want to follow the teachings of christ or anyone i should follow his sayings, but do i need to say that i belong to his religon? NO..It is our individualism that makes us not the religon we follow.
Equals
I am a victim of discrimination. I am a very different person, I love India's clothing and jewelry and stuff, so I commonly will wear bindis to school (Look them up, they're AWESOME!!!). Even though I wear them frequently, people stare and talk.
I have been the victim of cruel, offensive rumors, just because I am unbiased towards ethnicity. I am also very secure with myself and enjoy my personality. People pick on me for this, calling me 'wierd', and 'freaky'. I just like to be myself. Discrimination is a huge issue amongst small town schools like mine. I think it is necessary to bring up discrimination and predjudice in small town society as soon as possible.
discrimination
it is so annoying how many people are discriminated against every single day. it makes me so mad when i here that the wealthiest people spend there money on mansions instead of using it for a good cause. people who have the money should use it to help others in need. the effects of discrimination are for real and are one of the main causes for bullying at school. i should know. i was bullied from elementary all the way until high school when i finally was able to homeschool. i don't like how parents keep saying that bullying is a normal part of growing up. NO IT ISN'T! we don't have to hate and we don't have to discriminate. how would all those bullies feel if they were treated that way. i don't agree with the views of most people but that doesn't mean i hate them. that is why they call america the most diverse country in the world. if you can't handle being aroung people who think and look differently than you then you shouldn't be in this country.
Religion in general
Hi, to me and just my thoughts, religion is just a word now adays. I follow Jesus Christ. I go to a penticostal church but, do not claim to be Penticostal and very open about God because he says not to fear. So, the only thing I fear is sinning and not going to Heaven. I do not know what religion anyone else is, but, if you are affraid, then why be in that religion. Again, I do not know if you know Christ or not, but He got beat and spat apon and anything worse you can think of and He even got murdered for me and you. So, I do not fear what people may do or say or even think of me. It is my job as a follower of Christ to tell these people about the One who died for their and my sins and who loved them so much that He gave His only Son for us. It is true people should not make fun or torment, but they do and always will. My daughter Prays at her school before she eats, before tests and even for a great day before school starts. She is not loud and annoying about it when she does. So, it is up to you to either not be affraid or be affraid, but, if you are, maybe you need to check your heart and see if the one you are Praying to will truley protect you or not. I know my God will and has all my life and I am 42 now. So, I hope I helped you or even just comforted you all in my words. If not, I am sorry and all I can suggest is maybe try searching and Praying out to my God, because I know he will keep you safe and no matter what happens, it will be all for Him. God Bless you all who read this. Dream4God
Why discrimination?
I really don't think that there should be dicrimination. They are the same as us so why should we have discrimination! They are human like us with little differences. Why is there discrimination against religion or race? I need help against discrimination at my school!
You absolutly should not!
Ok, at my school everything is fine because there is no open discrimination. I think that people who make fun of and threaten people just because they have a different religion or they are a little different need a reality check because it's just wrong. You should not be afraid to be open about your religion at school. In fact I personally welcome having knowledge about different religions other than the major ones like Christianity and such. I hope that you are not feeling like your life is endangered because of where you're from or what religion you follow. When you think about there shouldn't even be an issue of discrimination and shame on anyone who would attack you for reasons other than self defense.
discrimination
NO, I don't think you should be afraid of being attacked in your own school! I think it's great that you're open about what religion you belong to. However, I do think that, for your safety, you should be careful about who you talk about it to. If you know that person to be discriminating towards people of your religon (hopefully not!) try not to talk about it to them. I do think that otherwise, though, you'll be absolutely fine!
What Happened to Anti Discrimintation?
