Well let me say i was to young to know. In elementry school starting in the 5th grade i couldnt really attend school because i kept moving through out the years all the way until high school, people say its not so much a drop put but i dont blame no one else and at the start i didnt blame myself because i didnt know how much studying and getting a diploma could make a diffrence but the year i began to see my old friends graduating it hit me !!!
i realized what am i doing? how am i going to get a good future like this? and i kinda felt dumb around others even though i am smart there where just certain times hmm..
i should have cared and once i had started school i should have seen and taken a look around at the start it was not my fault but afterwards i had well just gotten to lazy to care, and now well im sad angry with myself because i completely wish i could have started college or even university with my friends the sooner i started the faster i could get my dream future, i will make my dreams come true but because things were like that it just makes it so much harder...I am not exactlty a drop out(some what) but i can sure tell how much i wish i could have finished and graduated the year i was sopposed to!!!!
I've known many
I've known many people who've dropped out of highschool
some of them my closests friends, I also concidered it my self
for a while but now i see that i want to do something with my
life, though it still hurts to see people drop out!
Think Long and Hard Before You Take That Leap!
I left school at only fifteen years old. I wasn't failing because I was struggling with the curriculum, I was failing because I refused to show up to class. I was bored by the slow pace of the classes, the elementary reading level of my peers, and the ignorant attitudes of both the school officials, and the student body.
I spent the next 8 years working odd jobs and eventually ending up in a sales position making a decent living. I'm now a 4.0 pre-medical student at a reputable university. However, I wish that I wouldn't have waited. Leaving high school wasn't a bad decision, but having left the flow of academia that was guiding me, I put off going to college because I lacked direction. Had I started college on time, I'd be half way through medical school by now, and not trying to work full time while I finish my undergraduate courses.
what I think
I think you should get your GED. It's not an easy way out. It's for people who have had problems with highschool. I know tons of people who have done it so you're not alone. Don't feel bad about not finishing highschool because the GED is almost equal to a highschool diploma. This is only what I think so do what you think is best.
Good Luck!
GED
Last year I dropped out of highschool due mainly to moving around too much. I had changed highschools 6 times in two years. I never felt like I belonged anywhere. My big mistake was leaving my first highschool. Highschool is a fun expierience for the most part but I think it is most enjoyed when you stay in one for the full four years. It's just easier that way.
Well about a week ago I got my GED. I think if you are going to drop out of highschool you should at least get your GED. My parents and alot of people who cared about me said I should stay in highschool but it just wasn't for me and I never felt like I belonged. So now that I have my GED I am going to make the best out of my life.
I know most people believe that highschool is the best way to go but for some people its just not the right one. I did expieerience the many things people look forward to in highschool like friends, prom, extracurricular activities, so I feel like I ecpierienced what I needed to...I will attend college and I do know that some options are ruled out because I don't have my highschool diploma but like I said I will make the best of it.
school dropout
i got put out of school in 11th and 12th grade, however i still managed 2 get my ged and i am so thankful that i decided to di that. even if school isnt for you make sure you get tyour ged its just as good in the business world.
i withdrew
I actually this year was set to graduate early and started a new year at an alternative school as a senior. Always, when i was younger, i always felt older than everyone.I had watch my older sisters make bad choices and mistakes. So i immediately vowed i would never go down their road. The older i got the more dumb decisions my friends are making. so i broke my own promise i went down some roads i am not proud of and learned from them .now im over all the parties, drinking, and smoking. i've been there done that, im so sick of it all. i got fed up and asked my mom to withdraw me. she was mad but i said i feel like im not getting anywhere and all this is holding me back i just want to be set free and move on with my life. i am still debating on getting my GED and move on to college or go back to H.S. I feel like sometimes you have to make a decision that will look bad to everyone else but its with good intentions and ambition. i know if i get my GED i will stand alone so i will walk with my head held high. only i know myself. This isn't the end. its will be a new beginning when it disappears after i get my degree.
I Did
I was one of my many friends who started screwing up there life. My mother and father divorced, and I began to fill pressure. I pulled out my own hair... in order to avoid going to school and draw attention to myself. Soon I met my husband, and school become futher and futher from my grasp. I finally decided it was over with school, and convinced my father I would take my GED. I dropped out, and regret it every day. I watched my sister gruaduate and I cried. I would never have that, i would never get to pick my prom dress out, have fun or even explore. I could go back to school, and sit there for three years, being 21 when I finsihed. Only to have missed my friends, be embrassed and I couldn't do that. I wish I would have someone pushing me, making me fell better. THen maybe I would've run into marrying my husband, and facing the probelms I do know.
omg like that was my plans for the future
Ever since i started high school i think that i would never finish...i started messing up ever since the 9th grade....i cuts class and school, ever since somebody showed me how to...well now im 18 in the 10th grade and im completely embrassed..i have 10th grade credits....And i dont wanna graduate high school when i am like 21 years old or something like that...itz not like if i dont like school,i just get lazy in between the semester...i want to get my GED and then be able to go to the college of my choice... but people say that thats the easy way out of high school...what do u think that i should do???????
drop out
I dropped out. i pretty much dropped out in 8th grade. i rarely went to class. same with 9th and 10th grade. when i did actually show up i got great grades. so i ending up droppin out officially in 11th grade. I got my GED instead and am now in college. i enjoy college. school was just boring for me.
does anyone know some who
dropped out or was thinking about dropping out and could share their story here. It's one thing to look at the numbers and see who many young people are dropping out, but its a whole new ball game when you hear the personal stories of the hardship that some people are experiencing! I'd love to hear your thoughts on why you/someone you know dropped out and what things could have been done to stop this.
thanks!
