When asked if she sympathizes with Tom Cruise, Madonna told Time that she doesn't care what people worship, as long as they are good people.

"I don't care if people worship turtles or frogs — if they're good people, that's all I care about, and he's a good person. I think Tom Cruise gets a raw deal, just as I think the orphans in Malawi get a raw deal."

Madonna talks about the importance of tolerance, especially religious tolerance, in a world as diverse as the one in which we live.
