March is... Clubs Madness!

March is finally here! And that means it's time for Clubs Madness!

We're giving out a $500 Club Grant to our Final Four Regional Winners, and one of those Clubs will end up taking home the Grand Prize: a $1,000 Club Grant! Any Club Project that is posted between March 1st and March 31st is eligible (see "How to Win" for more details), and the Final Four will be announced April 3rd right before the start of the NCAA Basketball Men's Final Four! Then we'll see who has the most Regional Pride by having a two week voting period to decide which of the Final Four Clubs takes home the Grand Prize!

Remember in order to post a Club Project, first go to your Club's Page, then click "Create Project" in the Club Details Box.

If you don't have a Club yet, start one today to be a part of the Madness!

How to Win

1. Happens in March!: Your project must take place sometime in the month of March. It's ok if it was started before March or is an ongoing project and ends after March, as long as a major component of the project takes place in March. You must focus on the work done in March in your project posting.

2. Photos!: In order for your project to be considered for the competition, it must include a photo of your Club in action! The more photos the better! Please make sure that your photos are at least 450 pixels X 450pixels (does not have to be square though). Videos will definitely strengthen your submission as well, but these are not required.

3. Youth-Led: Club Members age 25 and under must take the lead in designing and implementing the project.

4. Details!: Concise, thorough details explaining the problem, why it is important to your Club and your community, and the steps you took to solve that problem.

5. Impact: Impact will be judged on both the number of people impacted and the magnitude of that impact. It is also important that the project brings about tangible results and measurable impact.

6. Long-Term Problem-Solving Action: Your project can be a one-time event or an ongoing program, either way, it should strive to make lasting change in your community.

7. Creativity: The more original your project is, the higher it will score.

8. Diversity: Your project promotes diversity and brings different kinds of people together.

More Tips

  • Impact: Make it clear how you chose which people or cause you wanted to help? Also, it is more important for us to know who has been affected and how you have accomplished this, than it is to know how this will change their lives forever.

  • Long-Term Problem-Solving Action: Whether your project is a one-time event or ongoing, you should demonstrate how your actions will have a lasting impact. Will your participants gain knowledge and awareness they will keep? How are your community members aware of your project? Provide examples such as local elementary school students signing a pledge to continue the eco-friendly programs they learned at your event.

  • Creativity: What makes your project different? What can we find in your project that no one else can offer? Tell us how you addressed an idea or cause no one else has before or how you have created a new spin on an old idea. How have you approached your problem in an original way?

  • Diversity: We want to know how your project brings different groups of people together. Remember that diversity can mean lots of different things: not just people of different backgrounds or ethnicities. Diversity also includes things like how your project brings young and old people together or how it unites privileged students with under privileged schools or groups. Or even within your school, are you working with kids you didn't know before? Are the people in your group learning about different cultures and different kinds of people?
