DoSomething.org participated in Liz Claiborne Inc’s sixth annual It’s Time to Talk Day on December 3rd, 2009. It's Time to Talk Day is a day dedicated to ensuring that Americans speak-up about a subject that most people simply prefer not to discuss — domestic violence and teen dating abuse. It’s Time to Talk Day events were held nationwide, including at the Department of Justice in Washington, DC with Attorney General Eric Holder and Education Secretary Arne Duncan.

Young people across the country got involved by holding events at their middle schools, high schools and colleges. To get involved, check out the Teen Dating Abuse Action Center.

DoSomething.org also participated in a “Talk Radio Row” on domestic violence at Liz Claiborne headquarters in New York. Major partners for 2009's event included The Department of Justice, CBS Evening News, REDBOOK, Seventeen, one, MTV, the Joyful Heart Foundation, Talkers Magazine and Talk Radio News Service.
