Updates

Since winning the 2008 Do Something Award, Chad has trained 45,000 teens to do anti-tobacco projects- talk about multiplying impact! He has also developed the worldwide viral campaign titled LIPS. The campaign stems from the response of a tobacco company spokesperson when questioned about their target demographic… “[If] they got lips, we want them.”

Since January 2010, over 6000 people (and animals) from all over the world have flooded the helloCHANGE website with funny, sad, cute, angry and even sexy photos of their tobacco-free LIPS. The campaign has spread to 1000s of teens in London, Puerto Rico and Alaska. 17 year-old Nate Cover won $500 bucks for college for collecting the most tobacco-free LIPS in his community.

Chad has also worked to change and implement multiple national, state, and local smoke-free laws. VH1 CEO Tom Calderone helped him score an internship with VIACOM Networks!

Here’s a message Chad sent to Do Something: “You guys continue to challenge me so I can maximize my chances of actually doing something. Props.”
