Describe what this winner does/did:
After his Mom died from brain cancer, David started a network of students to support each other through times of bereavement.

Over the last few years National Students of AMF has grown tremendously as a whole and in chapter
numbers. There are 37 official chapters and 28 in development. A full-time executive director has
been hired and he works at National Students of AMF’s first office. The website gets tons of views and
National Students of AMF has held several successful fundraisers.

David has run the organization for over three years as the executive director. Since bringing in the newest executive director, David has maintained the position as Board Chair and is focusing on the long term strategy for the organization. Although David misses the individual contact with National Students of AMF chapter leaders, he still gets to work with students on a day to day basis and is serving as the President of the UPenn chapter of Students of AMF while he is in medical school!

National Students of AMF were named the "Make it Matter" story of the month in April 2008 by Reader's Digest and had a feature story in RD and on the Today Show.

David is in his third year of medical school- he says he’s loving it! David is enjoying being able to finally
work with patients and is deciding between surgical oncology and interventional cardiology- we’re impressed! A last part of David’s update to Do Something: “I am so thankful for all that Do Something has done for our organization!”
