Geneva is now a proud Senior at SUNY Binghamton and is currently abroad in London! She’s majoring in English and African Studies. She hopes to apply to Graduate schools with a concentration in Business/Marketing. Best of all, Geneva is still involved with Bring It On!
As of 2007 Bring It On has expanded and redirected attention to better its community by focusing on childhood obesity. In 2008, Bring It On launched its first Young Women's Day Health and Fitness Expo in Pelham Bay Park. Nestle donated water, health bars and information packs to give to young girls and a Bally Total Fitness personal trainer came and exercised with the girls (and guys too!). In addition there were talent acts, speakers, healthy foods like fruit, gift bags, music and more. Bring It On has had two successful annual Expos and is looking forward to an even better 2010 Expo!
Some of the awards Geneva has received for her hard work include the Campbell’s Soup at Hand Lend a Hand Award, recognition as a Champion Mortgage/NY METS “Champion of the Community,” The Gloria Barron Prize for Young Heroes, The Harris Wofford Award, a Prudential Spirit of Community Award, an AXA Achievers Scholarship, and she was also a Nestle Very Best In Youth winner.
Geneva says her experience abroad in London has been eye opening!
