A Dream to Help Poverty?

Hello, I am 17 and I have always had a dream to help third world countries.
My parents want me to become successful in life; they want me to become a pharmacist.

However, I am more interested in helping others - a lot more interested. I can't imagine myself standing there and making 6 figures a year.

I have a huge dream... That I really want to achieve.
My dream is to start a foundation to help third world countries.
To start foundations to collect food, clothes, money, and clean water. I want to help build homes, churches, and schools in those places.
I have a big dream, but I do not know where to start.

This is a very broad description of what I want to become, and it almost sounds foolish, but it means so much to me.

Please give me your advice, help, and tips.
