How to get teens to care about voting?

Any ideas? I'm starting a group that focuses mainly on gay rights, but at our first meeting I really want to talk about the importance of voting--for EVERY cause you're passionate about. But I've found, especially with my new 18 year olds, that they don't care. How can I get them to care, and more importantly to want to vote?
