Award Description:
To award people who care for others besides themselves and demonstrate their character worthy of emulating. The award itself is a $2000 college scholarship for youth winners (those who have not yet graduated high school); along with a crystal statue, a profile in CARING magazine, and an official induction into the Hall of Fame for Caring Americans, accompanied by a trip to Washington D.C. for the induction.
Eligibility Guidelines:
Recipients must be between the ages of 9 and 99, and they must be nominated. The nomination should be at least 500 words describing how the nominee best personifies caring, and would be a worthy role model to be emulated by others. The nomination must be accompanied by two letters of recommendation, one from an educator, and one from a sponsor in the community (for the youth applications).
