General Social Entrepreneurship
Type of Award:
Project Grant
Award Description:
In order to take your project or organization to the next level, you need to have nailed your project pitch. In fact, DoSomething.org Boot Campers consistently tell us that our speed-pitching session is the most valuable portion of the day. Watch our Do Something U video, How to Pitch Your Project, for tips and then upload your best pitch for a chance to win one of five $250 grants! DEADLINE: Upload your video before May 6th for a chance to win. Your pitches will be judged on clarity and effectiveness. TIPS: It is easy to get flustered when you only have two minutes to explain all the amazing work you do. Don’t forget to touch on these essentials: 1. Who you are (introduce yourself using your full name and your title or tagline) 2. What you do (say what you do and be specific as possible: Why are you distinctively positioned to deliver this solution?) 3. Why you’re the best (say why you are the go-to person in your field: How many years have you been at this? how has your life experience prepared you for this endeavor?) 4. Your call to action (say which specific action you would like people to take next)
Eligibility Guidelines:
The applicant must be 25 OR UNDER. The applicant must be a U.S. or Canadian citizen (You will be asked to prove citizenship and age if you win). You can APPLY for as many grants as you'd like, but you can only win ONE grant from Do Something in a twelve month period (excluding the Do Something Award or unless otherwise noted).
Application Deadline:
submit your pitch by May 6, 2011
Winners announced:
end of May
