Featured Green Project
The blighted alleys in the area where we've been cleaning, gardening, and art making have been notorious drug dealing locations. With the help of students and volunteers, we have transformed the alleys into beautiful plant and art environments. The homeless are an integral part of the alleys and many have been given recycled sketchbooks and are writing, drawing, and photographing their experiences. We have organized several community events that include performance, drawing and painting, music, bake sales, free plants, seeds, and compost. The alleys are not recognized as an important resource for the city. We need to make more people aware of our activities and to get the small businesses involved. Read more »
