  • Spend a week studying the contributions of immigrants to the USA.
  • Learn about five Latino revolutionaries, like Che' Guevara and Emiliano Zapata.

  • Do research on your personal heritage.
  • Work at a restaurant with a different culture.
  • If you are in an ethnically diverse area (i.e. a city) spend a weekend hanging out in an ethnic neighborhood like Little Italy.
  • Learn a foreign language and/or a foreign culture.

  • When you donate to an organization, find out where the money goes and make sure the organization supports your values.
  • Encourage friends to get involved in your interests: add Tibet as a cause on your Facebook or myspace page
