Spread the music. Give your old CD’s to the Salvation Army or your local school.
Old music lying around? Donate sheet music to your local school or Salvation Army.
Have an old violin collecting dust in the attic? Donate it to your local school.
Ask your local TV and radio stations to publicly recognize local music programs and advertise music events throughout the year.
Invite community leaders to your concerts, or arrange performances at PTA meetings or even City Hall.
Sponsor an essay contest for students to write about why music is important to them. Ask a newspaper to print the winning entry.
Turn a local performance into an "informance" by having interesting music facts placed inside the concert programs.
Educate your friends at school with your new knowledge on the importance of arts in education.
Attend your local school board meetings to speak up for your interest in arts and education or raise awareness at your school.
Run for a position in your student council and make your voice count.
When you donate to an organization, find out where the money goes and make sure the organization supports your values.
