Why is art education important to you?

I believe that art education is one of the most important aspects of schooling today. Having worked at a science center and with youth, I have witnessed firsthand the power of art to inspire young minds to reach for the stars. It is not simply science or mathematics that encourage the children I have worked with; it is their imagination. It is thus only more vital that art education stays in schools and continue to inspire.
