A club that rocks...
The weekly grant winner is...
Laura Mantell , 17, NY Project: Students Extending Assistance to Students When Hurricane Katrina ravaged the Gulf region of the U.S. two years ago, Laura volunteered for five weeks and discovered that thousands of young survivors suffered from PTSD (Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder), neglect, and abandonment. Laura realized that few people understood what these kids were going through. She responded by organizing a group of concerned young people and creating SEAS (Students Extending Assistance to Students). SEAS has organized computer and school supply drives, raised $9000, and started a pen pal program to connect 3rd graders in New York and Mississippi. Get your grant on! |

When they create an account and post at VolunteerMatch, the opportunity will not only be viewable by over 1 million registered VolunteerMatch users, it will also automatically show up at DoSomething.org, Change.org, REI.com, Seventeen.com, CMT.com, and even Yahoo.com. That's because VolunteerMatch is the volunteer matching partner for all these sites. Volunteering is more fun when you have company -- and it can be found at www.VolunteerMatch.org. |
