A club that rocks...
Do Something Club, KY Project: Migrant Program The SERVE Do Something Club helps provide assistance to migrant families in their community by holding programs informing them about local services offered, such as healthcare, while club members work with the kids to design crafts, such as mother’s day gifts for their moms, play educational interactive games and help with their schoolwork. Last year over 60 families got involved. Start a club!
The weekly grant winner is...
Diana Lopez, 18, TX, Project: Roots of Change Community Garden Diana’s neighborhood is plagued by poverty, environmental contamination and few positive activities for youth. So Diana took the initiative to start a community garden to bring together youth and families in the area to create positive change by helping the environment and producing food for the community. The garden requires that youth participants work together to engage in planning, planting, watering, weeding and harvesting. Get your grant on! |

Help Your Favorite Causes Find Volunteers! Stop feeling lonely when you volunteer! Tell the folks at your favorite nonprofits that they can recruit volunteers from the DoSomething.org community -- and the wider Web world, too -- by posting their volunteer opportunities at VolunteerMatch. When they create an account and post at VolunteerMatch, the opportunity will not only be viewable by over 1 million registered VolunteerMatch users, it will also automatically show up at DoSomething.org, Change.org, REI.com, Seventeen.com, CMT.com, and even Yahoo.com. That's because VolunteerMatch is the volunteer matching partner for all these sites. Volunteering is more fun when you have company -- and it can be found at www.VolunteerMatch.org.

Samsung Fresh Films:
Samsung Fresh Films is the only national filmmaking program where the pros are replaced by teens! This year we’ve traveled all over the country to create 9 different films in 3 genres, Action/Thriller, Drama, and Comedy. In just 7 days 99 teens from all over the country created, directed, produced, and edited a short film but there can only be one winner. Now you can view & vote for your favorite action/thriller teen created film online at www.fresh-films.com from July 26 - Aug 21. |

Donors Choose DonorsChoose is a simple way to provide students in need with resources that our public schools often lack. At this not-for-profit web site, teachers submit project proposals for materials or experiences their students need to learn. These ideas become classroom reality when concerned individuals choose projects to fund. To date, over $13.2 million worth of classroom materials have been donated through DonorsChoose. We need your help to win up to 5 million dollars for classrooms across the country. Go to http://www.donorschoose.org
