Gay couples marry in D.C.

On Tuesday, D.C. joined five states in allowing gay couples to marry. Over 150 couples applied for licenses last week, and today they stood on line to be wed.
The same sex marriage law was passed in December, despite countless attempts to stop it. In so doing, D.C. joins the ranks of Massachusetts, Connecticut, Iowa, Vermont, and New Hampshire as the only places in the country where same-sex couples can marry.
Congrats to all the new married couples. It looks like all of the gay rights activism is really paying off!
