Young Violinist Donates All of his Album’s Profits to Daniel Pearl Foundation

16-year-old Violinist Sam Weiser is releasing a debut music album, ‘Sam I Am,’ but he’s not getting any of the money. All of his profits from the album’s sales will go toward the Daniel Pearl Foundation and Friends of Daniel Pearl’s FODfest.
Two years ago, Weiser was awarded a Daniel Pearl Memorial Violin. The instrument was a gift honoring journalist Daniel Pearl, who was kidnapped and killed in Pakistan while reporting. After learning more about the foundation and Pearl’s legacy, Weiser decided that he wanted to take action.
"It's made me want to send a message of peace through my music and inspired me to find new ways to connect with people and promote Daniel's mission of tolerance,” said the teen. Weisner’s album features interpretations of a diverse mix of cultural styles, including Carlos Santana, Eddie Vedder, and Mark O’Connor.
Daniel Pearl gained international memorial with his story, which inspired the movie A Mighty Heart with Angelina Jolie. Daniel Pearl was also a talented violinist, and a specially made violin is awarded to promising artists every year in his memory.
