Clubs Back To School Eblast

Hey !

Back to school is a busy time. And we've got plenty coming up to keep you busy Doing Something!

Obama declared 9/11 a National Day of Service and Remembrance. Tell us how you're planning to participate!

We hope you agree with Sean Kingston that music has the power to unite, empower, and inspire a generation. But, music programs are being cut from schools across the country. We want you to Do Something about music education by joining the Save Our Music campaign.

Since all that action can get expensive, we're giving out 40 club grants to help. Read on to find out how you can get $250 to support your projects! Does your club need money for an After School project? Check out the After School Grants for a chance at $1000 in funding.

Welcome back to another great year of DS Clubs :)

National Day of Service and Remembrance

September 11th is a day that brings back a lot of memories. A big one is how Americans united to help each other after the attacks.

Obama has declared 9/11 a National Day of Service and Remembrance. Do Something wants to hear how YOU will be taking action on that day.

Post your plans! The first 250 submissions get a free Do Something t-shirt!

Join Save Our Music!

Do Something has teamed up with Vh1's Save the Music Foundation to empower you to fight for music education.

Music and Arts program are being slashed. We want you to Do Something about it.

Join the Save Our Music campaign. From 9/1 to 10/16, advocate in your community for a chance to win $2500, Rock Band video games, Kodak pocket cams, Fender Guitars and more!

Sign up for your free advocacy toolkit and to get started!

Design the Classroom of the Future

The World Bank says that educating all children worldwide requires the construction of 10 million new classrooms. Architecture for Humanity responded by launching the Classroom of the Future Challenge.

They want YOU to contribute. DS Clubs are invited to collaborate with local AFH chapters or to submit designs electronically to be exhibited this fall. Check out the Education page  or e-mail me (mstevenson@dosomething.org) to get involved!

Club Grants

Sometimes taking action costs money. We don't want you worrying about dollars while you plan your club projects.

We're giving out 40 grants to DS Clubs that take action early this year!

Just post your project or plan by October 16th and you could earn $250 to support your work.

Need an idea? Why not a Save Our Music or Do Something 101 project? We'd love to power your efforts in DS Campaigns.

Venice Sr. High School's Benefit Concert

This stellar DS Club was inspired by Greg Mortenson and the book "Three Cups of Tea".

They are organizing a benefit concer to support schools in the third world and Middle East. They believe that the best way to fight terrorism is through education, not war.

They're making some serious progress in their plans and have even reached out to Lady Gaga! Check it out.
