Hello, my name is Katie Hess and I am writing a persuasive paper against animal poaching for my communications class. In order to enhance the credibility of my paper, an interview from a knowledgeable person in this particular field is required. I am wondering if there is an activist or someone who is very knowledgeable on the topic of animal rights who might allot some time to answer a few questions that I have in an interview via e-mail (or just right here in this forum). I was interested to find that half of my class is indifferent about the issue of animal poaching. I was shocked and angered, but it inspired me to change their views. I thought that by interviewing someone with quite a bit of knowledge on this topic, I could help my fellow classmates understand the true tragedy behind the so called “glamorous” furs and other animal products. I have been researching the topic quite a bit, and I appreciate any other information, but it is required that I actually interview someone for this paper, so if anyone who reads this could spare a few moments, I would be great appreciative. For time sake, I have attached the questions I would like to ask. Thanks so much!

Interview Questions:
Are there any laws to regulate urban poaching, and how strongly enforced are these laws?
Is urban poaching becoming more or less of a problem?
What types of dangers do animals face in fur farms and why aren’t there laws to stop these farms?
Is it easy for poachers to import their products into the United States? If so, why is this?
What animals are legal to poach and sell in the U.S.?
I have read in several articles that fur is coming back on the fashion scene in a more subtle way than before (perhaps a trim or lining of a coat), is this true? If so do you project this to be a problem?
Where are animal poachers making the majority of their money and what products?
What kind of regulations are used to control poaching and their sales in other countries?
Are we helpless to stop the killing and selling of animals in other countries, or is there something we, in the United States, can do to help?
Is there any other information that I should know that you can give me?
Thank you for your time!
