Many eggs that you buy at your grocery store come from cage hens. Cage hens are in cages stacked on top of each other and in hardly-livabel conditions. Did you know that 95% of all laying hens are in battery cages on factory farms? That's 2,850,000 hens out of 3,000,000! These hens don't even have enough room to spread their wings. Other countries have banned battery cages, so to do your part, buy only eggs that don't come from cage-hens. To do this, look for “cage-free,” “free-range,” “organic," or “free-roaming” on the label. Just doing that can make a difference!
