See It: The Community being helped
At Paint Lick Elementary, in the After School Program, in central Kentucky we spent a couple of weeks designing posters to display in a art show. The kids loved the hands-on with the art work, but even more so, they loved the fact that we we're hosting this art show in order to take up donations for our local animal shelter. So, after all the posters were finished, we set a date to have our "art show". All the kids brought their parents and we sold concessions, with all the money going to Garrard County animal Shelter. It was a pretty simple project to put together, and the kids had a good time making the posters, as well as coming to the art show and showing thier parents what they had been doing, in the Do Something Club!!!
