You can't just tell teens to drive smart and make them aware of all the deaths caused by not driving smart. That alone won’t make teens good drivers. Nor does raising the age limit to get your permit and licence. The best way to prevent all the deaths in the future is to actually TEACH teens to become good drivers and learn all the tactics of driving safely. If you were to get a bunch of companies to become sponsors and you established a way for teens to learn how to drive properly, at a low cost (not everyone can afford a $500 driving school) the outcome would be a lot better and it can benefit everyone. For example, if car dealerships, gas stations, insurance companies and other small or large businesses were to sponsor, and put money into the organization they would all benefit. Dealerships would have an increase in sales, because all of the new drivers on the road need a good car, increase of cars on the road increase the sale of gas, all cars need insurance, so insurance companies that support would get more business and this is a great advertizing opportunity for other businesses. You see this isn’t good for just the drivers out on the road, but it’s good for the economy. Not everyone has a parent free to teach them to drive safely, with this establishment they would have a place to go to and learn the correct way. If you were to tell a young child to wash a dirty plate, they would, however, it probably wouldn’t be properly cleaned and there would be some food build up and dried up soap bubbles left. The same goes for driving, and young teen will drive safety, but their way of driving safely may not be the correct way. To sum up, this establishment would be good for everyone and in a way it’s a small step to making the world a better place.
I just have to stress seat belts. I know most people are good about wearing them most of the time but if you got in an accident the one time you weren't you could die. My cousin was killed in a car accident many years ago. He was driving late at night. He had never not worn his seat belt until that night. His car flipped and he flew out of the jeep and was killed on impact. A seat belt could have saved his life. I have an entire essay written on why you should wear seat belts. If you really want to read it, email me at subject Seatbelts
You could post posters around town and your school, promoting safe driving. I have a myspace, and I could post bulletins to promote safe driving. Almost every teenager has one, so why don't they do it also? Posters are very inexpensive, and myspace is free, as long as you don't give out personal information.

You can have a car rally in your town - we used to have one for homecoming and everyone really loved it! You can have facts and stats about smart driving posted on the sides of the cars and really get the whole community involved
Learning How To Drive Correctly
