See It: The Community being helped

A lot of people, mainly teens, think they are invincible while driving. We don't take into consideration our life can be gone in the blink of an eye. If you really take a look around at all the people driving you see almost everyone is either talking on their cell phone, eating, changing the radio station, driving while impaired, or not looking at the road, and the list goes on. Every single day people die in automobile accidents mainly because of distractions. I would like to create a project that could really influence people to really take driving seriously to try and prevent so many automobile accidents. If I do get a grant, my idea was to host a party with the theme "Party for a purpose." The party would be at the local community center, which is The McAdenville Community Center, and the money from the grant would go towards party expenses such as door prizes. For a door prize I could give out gift cards, candy, etc. The money would also need to go towards snacks and the flyers I hand out to everyone. The party would be supervised by some parents. Im not going to give a lot of details about the party in the flyers because that would turn people away from it. Near the middle of the party I would stop the music or whatever is going on and explain the purpose of the party. I will already have all of my research done and ready to speak about the dangers of distractions while driving. I am currently trying to find an inspirational speaker to speak at the party. I'm looking for someone thats life has been affected by an automobile accident that was caused by any sort of distractions. I would also use the money for keychains which will be a reminder to everyone when they crank up their car to drive safe.I would also have bracelets made with my project name "Drive Safe, Save Lives."
