Perform selected duties, with training and supervision by regular staff, in several different areas, as determined by the needs of the branch and the interest/skills of the volunteer, such as: general library duties, circulation, book processing, audio-visual materials, youth activities, computer lab/internet assistants, Grandparents and books program and Literacy tutors. Our volunteers are esteemed members of our library system and as such, receive many perks and benefits such as fine exempt status, access to library facilities, annual recognition events and much more! A strong interest in books and related forms of information, reading and learning. A desire to help children, youth and adults in a library setting. Good interpersonal and customer service skills to serve the public. Ability to take initiative, solve minor problems and work under minimal supervision.
