One year since Katrina

It is hard to believe that it has only been one year since Katrina struck because there is still so much rebuilding to be done. And the U.S. is still just begining to understand what it is going to require to restore the Gulf Coast.

Do Something helped raise 60,000 backpacks last year. But what can be done a year later?

What should charities that want to help the Gulf Coast focus on? Will simply building houses without ensuring people have jobs work? What about the lack of schools and resources for children in the area?

Thoughts, ideas, solutions welcome

Re: One year since Katrina

I think it is horrible after hurricane Katrina. Some people have no homes, food ,water , and clothes. Mothers and Fathers lost their childern.

Throw your dirty laundry somewhere else. We ask that you don't curse or use other inappropriate language here (if you have to think too hard about using a word, you probably shouldn't). This is a forum for the exchange of positive ideas, not a place to gang up on others or make anyone feel bad. Feeling good is good, right? Yup. Also, for your own safety, we ask that you don't post personal information about yourself or where you live on these boards.
