I am a final year med
I am a final year med student and i think "homelessness" is a bigger issue in comparison to cancer.
Homelessness feeds violence and inturn spreads like cancer to all.Once we eradicate it,which is very well within our capability,we can pursue other challenging things like cancer.
I know quite a bit about cancer and though lots of cancer ARE treatable if diagnosed early, ther r quite a few that r deadly and cancer is also a result of simple aging.we humans r living far more than our ancestors and cuz of that our cells r prone to make mistakes and hence causing cancer.
From the way i see it,Homelessness is clearly a bigger issue that should be addressed in comparison to cancer.
True, but think of it this way...
These issues are both big issues.
However...
Homelessness falls into the government's hands, and cancer research falls into the global medical community's.
As a result, there is no real way to compare the two issues, since they must be addressed by different groups.
If the powers and abilities of the world medical community were assumed by the Government, then it would be another case. But currently, these two organizations are completely separate, and as a result, must focus on their respective tasks.
Both are big issues...
In my opinion, both are extremely big issues. The difference is, cancer doesn't really have a proven "cure" so lots of people are suffering. Homelessness on the other hand has a cure, but it's just hard to come by: getting a job and a place to live. Really it's hard to even compare the two. Good thing to think about though.
They're Both Bad, But In Different Ways
They're both serious problems. I know people that have cancer and have livd near people that were homeless. They're both sad. But, they're both bad, and none of them are worst. Think about it, if you had to choose, you'd say they're both just as bad, but in different ways.
Related
When you realize that 80% of bankruptcies come from medical costs (sicko), I think you can see how these two causes are sort of related. Which leads to a larger issue.
You can't compare the two.
You can't compare the two. Both have millions of victims. Both are terrible issues that need to be addressed and stopped immediately. So to answer your question, they are both big. However it would be wise to focus your attention on one issue to make the biggest impact possible
